wow, that was odd and glitchy... JUST LIKE THIS PROJECT. Great segway to an even greater out of this world project, i know. Now strap in because we're blasting off in 10, 9, 8,7, you get the idea, 2, 1!!! You may be asking why i chose an astronaut for this picture, and my answer to that is because whats cooler than an astronaut in space, with his technology glitching out as he reaches the far depths of outer space, and the answer to that is absolutely nothing... in this world at least .this project pulls many similarities with my 3D project not in the language im using, but in the way the mission was accomplished, by using the channels. in this case the channels where used to create different colours: yellow, cyan, and magenta, and same as before, creating these colours meant i had to create a different layer for each colour i did. i created yellow by turning off the blue channel in the levels option, magenta i turned off green, and for cyan, once agin i turned off red. the next step i did was create each of those layers to smart objects. this allowed me to go back and change the filter i would be doing in the next step if i ever needed to... which i did because it was seen as "too out of this world" by some people, so i toned it down just a bit. After that, the next part was to go to filter-> distort-> wave, on each of the different coloured layers. what this did is it allowed me to distort each of the layers so when over one another, they would all be slightly separated and look glitchy. i basically just messed around with the settings under the filter until i was happy with what i got, keeping the distortion at a low verticality. i then made sure to change the filter on each layer to make it look different from the last. after that i changed the blending options on the layers to filters like screen, and hard light, and vivid light. The next thing i did was adda noise filter with maximum particles over the top of everything in order to give it the fuzzy and static looking feel in the background. i also liked the way it made it look like there were dead pixels all over the screen i then went to the filter gallery and under sketch mode i added small horizontal lines, to add to the distortion even more. the last thing i did was simply google glitch background and overlay it over all of my previous layers. this is what caused all of those big rectangles on green and blue to appear, which i really liked. there was actually a very ironic part in this project in that whenever i tried to export the photoshop file as a JPEG, it glitched out and made the image i overlayed basically consume my entire photo. i ended up needing to take a screen shot of the picture just to be able to upload it, which was pretty weird./ thats how i created this out of this world photo... tune in next time for
